How do I write a line?

From the perspective of an insurer the system is very informal. The messaging facility is used to communicate line, reference and any other preference.

By contrast the Broker’s process is more formal. All data changes, including the market lines are input by the originating department. A broker confirmation message is sent to the insurer. If the information is accurate and acceptable the insurer responds with an underwriter acceptance message. The latter validates the record and confirms the line.
